About Anna Nalick

Anna Nalick is a young singer & songwriter hailing from California. There isn't much about her I can say that the spin doctors can't. In fact, there's an excellently written bio at AnnaNalick.com. That's better than anything I could write.

But what it lacks is a personal touch. Sure, it's great and well written for what it is, but it doesn't say anything about what the rest of us think about her.

I first discovered Anna Nalick when someone said "You have to hear this song." This song turned out to be Breathe (2 A.M.), and it was the song that opened my eyes to Anna Nalick. That one song got a lot of repeat playing, and eventually led me to seek out more of her work. Of course, there wasn't any yet because Wreck of the Day hadn't even been released. So I plotted the tracking down of this album, leading me to a local record store. It was a successful mission, and I still have my much-loved and overly-listened-to copy of Wreck of the Day sitting next to me as I write this.

The feeling you get from listening to her music is that Anna Nalick is really just like the rest of us. Sure, she's got a record contract, heavy backing and tours the country doing what she loves. But what makes her so different from the rest of us? Not much.

Her words, what she writes, sings, thinks and feels make her seem like she could be the girl living a few doors down, or one of your friends. In fact, she probably is. You probably know someone a whole lot like her, and that's the appeal behind Anna Nalick. You can see yourself through her words, hear your thoughts echoed in her music. It's hard not to fall in love with any song or any set of lyrics that can make you feel the way Anna Nalick's music does.

So far, Anna's only got one album under her belt, but can you already tell that I'm dying for the next one?
