About The Spiderwick Chronicles
The Spiderwick Chronicles is a five-part series of books written by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black that chronicles the adventures of the Grace children: Mallory, Jared and Simon. In the interest of giving some detail about the books, but without spoiling anything... here is my brief summary of the beginning of this wondrous story:
Everything changed for the Grace children after their parents divorced. They left their tiny New York apartment and moved into their Aunt Lucida's grand (if not a bit creepy) Victorian mansion. This was not Jared's idea of a good change, but as with many children, no one asked his opinion. His mother said it was for the best. Was it really? Well...
The children tried to make the best of their new home, but it really
was creepy. The fun begins when the children investigate what sounds like a squirrel trapped in the walls late one night. And well... things soon began to go amiss shortly after the late-night adventure.
